Welcome to Kewaskum Middle School located on the north side of Kewaskum High School. Our school is home to just over 400 students. KMS is an excellent place for your child to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Students are the heart of our school and our staff provides support to them as they experience a big transition from elementary to high school. Our smaller school environment enables us to get to know each student and help them identify areas of interest as they prepare for their high school experience and hence their college and career exploration.
The staff at KMS is committed to building positive relationships with students, their families and the community. Engagement and differentiation are the focus at our school. We strive to find ways to meet the needs of our individual learners during class time and Extended Learning Time (ELT). Kewaskum Middle School continuously works to improve the way we deliver instruction and meet our students’ needs. We continue our focus on literacy and what it means in different content areas. Students will have focus areas of reading and writing at each grade level that encompasses high expectations. We continue to employ the workshop model to deliver instruction which ensures we meet with students in small groups and on an individual basis to personalize their learning.
Students at KMS have the opportunity to explore many clubs, organizations, and sports. These include: Student Government, Jazz Band, Ski Club, Plays (Drama Club), Yearbook, Show Choir, Technology Club, Solo Ensemble, Rocket Club, Lego League and FFA. Students also have the opportunity to join a sports team, including: Track, Basketball, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Wrestling.
Our families are always welcome at KMS. We encourage parents/guardians to take part in their child's education. We know that parents know their child better than anyone so it is our goal to learn from you so we can work together as a team for your child to have the best experience possible at KMS.
If you have questions about our school or to schedule a tour please contact Principal Julie Skelton at 262-626-3104 ext 2103.
