In the summer of 2015 the School Board recommended the formation of a Long Range Planning Committee. The goal of the committee was to develop a plan that focused on meeting the facility needs of Kewaskum Middle and High Schools. The committee was made up of parents, staff and community members. In May 2016 the committee approved a survey to be distributed to community members to receive input from them on a plan that reflects the priorities of the taxpayers and meets the needs of our students.
The group determined that although our schools have been well-maintained, many parts of the Middle School's and High School's infrastructure are over 50 years old and have reached the end of their useful life, resulting in inefficiencies and ongoing repair. In order to continue to provide safe and secure school buildings that appropriately support the way today's teachers teach and students learn, both schools need renovation to the learning spaces, building systems, infrastructure and an addition for classroom space which will connect the two schools.
