I love teaching. I've been a second grade teacher at KES since 2002. Before that, I was the district's gifted and talented coordinator.
My teaching certification is for grades 1-6 (received through the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee), with an earlier B.A. degree in child psychology from the University of Minnesota. In 2009, I received my Masters of Arts degree in Education through Viterbo University.
I live in West Bend with my wonderful wife (a fourth grade teacher in a Milwaukee elementary school), and our time-telling cat, Daisy. In my free time, I like traveling (the picture to the right is from a trip to Wisconsin Concrete Park), writing (for personal enjoyment and publication), and playing guitar (although not terribly well). I try to add these interests into my teaching. Hopefully, the kids find it as interesting as I do...
My mission as a teacher is to help my students become the best they can be: academically, socially, and personally. To be honest, that's a pretty good goal to set for myself, as well.
I look forward to another great year with my students!
