Monday Students will read and reread to understand and practice making inferences.  Students will practice reading with fluency and phrasing techniques.

SPRING CONCERT PRACTICE

Tuesday Students will read and reread to understand and practice making inferences. Students will practice reading with fluency and phrasing techniques.

Go through and define vocabulary words.  Read "Brian Gets Fit on the Field" and review making inferences.

 

Wednesday Students will read and reread to understand and practice making inferences. Students will practice reading with fluency and phrasing techniques.

Read: "There's Nothing Like Baseball" and answer inference questions throughout the reading.   

 

Thursday

Students will read and reread to understand and practice making inferences. Students will practice reading with fluency and phrasing techniques.

Day Learning Target Activity/Assignment
Monday Students will learn, practice, and apply spelling patterns. Students will write fluently about their weekend. Students will get new word sorts, sort their words, and highlight patterns. Students will write about their weekend using correct punctuation, capitalization, and complete sentences
Tuesday Students will learn, practice, and apply spelling patterns. Students will write fluently and with correct conventions.

Students will sort their words again and write them in their Spelling notebooks. Students will meet in small groups with the teacher to go over their word sorts. Students will review their words by doing a blind sort with a partner.

Wednesday Students will learn, practice, and apply spelling patterns.  Students will write fluently and with correct conventions.

Students will review prefixes, suffixes, contractions, and homophones.  Students will choose what they want to write about.   

Thursday Students will learn, practice, and apply spelling patterns.

Students will play word games to review their pattern words for the week.

Friday Students will be assessed on their pattern words.  Students will write fluently and with correct conventions.

Students will take their Spelling test for the week.  Students will choose what they want to write about.
