Homework Quizzes: (40% of the grade)
·         Approximately once a week
·         Problems will be similar to your homework

Tests: (60% of the grade)
·         At the end of each book (unit)
·         Students who perform poorly on Unit Tests will be encouraged to seek extra help before or after school with the teacher.Tests may be retaken at students request and only after meeting with teacher for review.
Homework:
·         Homework does not account for much of students’ overall grade. Assigned homework provides opportunities for students to practice new skills that are learned during classroom lessons. It is ultimately up to the students to complete their homework and ask questions for further clarification when needed.

KMS uses the Connected Mathematics Project Curriculum (CMP). The overarching goal of the CMP middle school mathematics curriculum is:

“All students should be able to reason and communicate proficiently in mathematics. They should have knowledge of and skill in the use of the vocabulary, forms of representation, materials, tools, techniques, and intellectual methods of the discipline of mathematics, including the ability to define and solve problems with reason, insight, inventiveness and proficiency.”
