We are planning to leave KHS during the afternoon of April 14th, 2010. The buses would return to Kewaskum in the evening of Monday, April 19th. The approximate cost of the trip would be $550. This includes the cost of coach bus to and from Orlando, three nights lodging, Universal Studios, Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, and Clinics at the University of Central Florida, and other possible performance opportunities. Other expenses, including some meals and souvenirs, are the responsibility of the students. The groups most likely to perform are the Concert Band, Concert/Mixed Choir combination, and Show Choir.
We need to get an idea of the number of students that would be participating in this exciting music adventure. The bus company will soon need a down payment, as will the music festival organizers. Thus, here is a proposed payment schedule. Note that the first $50 is nonrefundable, as we need to reserve space for each participating student.
November 25, 2009 = $50 (nonrefundable deposit)
January 15, 2010 = $200
February 25, 2010 = remaining balance
February 26, 2010, will also be the last day that students can drop out of the trip and get their money back, minus, of course, the nonrefundable $50 deposit. Once the bus company and festival bills are paid we cannot get a refund. The only money that will be refunded is the actual cash payments. All money earned through fund-raising activities remains part of the student’s music department account.
Please remember, all groups need to have well-balanced participation to look and sound their best.
The Proposed Itinerary:
Wed, April 14th: Load Buses and depart Kewaskum at 1:00pm
Thursday afternoon: Spend time at Cocoa Beach check into hotel
Friday: Universal Studios (possible performance opportunity)
Saturday: Morning – Performance Clinics/master classes at UCF.
Afternoon – Kennedy Space Center
Sunday: Check out of hotel, area attraction or theme park. Depart for Kewaskum in evening
Monday night: Arrive back in Kewaskum.
