About Mrs. Longdin

Born and raised in Minnesota, I completed my elementary and secondary education with the Watertown-Mayer School District.  For the next five years the University of Wisconsin - River Falls became my home as I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education.  I also obtained my Middle School Certification, a General Science minor, and a secondary coaching minor.  After completing my first year with the Kewaskum School District, I began my Masters of Education training with National Louis University.  My official Master's degree is in Curriculum and Instruction.
Kewaskum School District hired me for the 1998-'99 school year and I've been employed here ever since.  Seventh grade Science, Math, Social Studies, and Language Arts ... I've taught it all.  This year I will be teaching the Science curriculum to the Fyksen/Longdin/Steinert house for three class periods and one block of Language Arts.  Seventh grade science incorporates life science.  Students will be learning about cells, plants, animals, the human body and much, much more.  Within the Language Arts curriculum, we concentrate on the writing process, 6 + 1 Traits, several trade books and a variety of writing styles.
Outside the walls of Kewaskum Middle School, I'm generally pretty busy chasing after my three children.  I also try to get to Minnesota to visit family and friends as often as possible.  I'm pictured below sitting at the Continental Divide in Colorado.  Mrs. Airaudi and I had an amazing opportunity to study an environmental education curriculum in Colorado for a week two summers ago.  The entire experience was phenomenal.
