I grew up in Watertown, Minnesota. It’s very similar to Kewaskum in size, work ethic, and family values. I graduated from Watertown-Mayer High School in 1992. I hopped across the border and earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls in 1997; majoring in elementary education with a double minor, general science and coaching. I obtained my master’s degree in 2000 from National Louis University.
Kewaskum Middle School hired me to begin teaching in the fall of 1998 … I’ve been with the district ever since! Although students grow and move on and the subject matter taught may be altered, I still enjoy being in the classroom. This year is no exception.
Outside of the classroom, it's my privilege to taxi my three children to and from their various activities. Madisyn, Ethan, and Jayden keep both my husband and I quite busy. We live in Hartford, but have chosen to enroll our children in the Kewaskum School District.
I try to get back to Minnesota to visit friends and family as often as possible. And yes, I do cheer for the Vikings! I’ve also been known to substitute the words “pop” for soda and “drinking fountain” for bubbler.
