Time Allotment
1. 46 total minutes for class.
2. 5 minutes to dress for class and report to designated area.
3. 9 minutes for exercises. 27 minutes of activity.
4. 5 minutes to change back into street clothes.
Locks, lockers and baskets
1. Everyone will be issued a lock. You are responsible for the lock and for remembering the combination.
If you fail to turn your lock in at the end of the year, you will be charged for it.
2. You will be issued a basket in which you will place those items necessary for gym class. Your lock must be
placed on this basket so as to insure no lost or stolen items.
3. There are street lockers available for you to keep street clothes in. You may share your street locker or
choose one of your own. These are used to place your street clothes in while in class. Do not leave the
lock on the street locker after class is over, or it will be cut off.
Class Dress
1. You will be required to have tennis shoes and athletic socks.
2. Any athletic type of shorts and shirt is acceptable for class. However, the following criteria must be met;
a. No profanity or offensive clothing.
b. No cut-offs or tank tops with open sides.
c. Shorts must be long enough so that when arms are placed at the side, the student’s fingertips do not
touch past their shorts.
3. You are responsible for keeping your gym clothes clean.
4. You may wish to keep sweatshirts or warm-up pants in your basket for when we go out in cold weather.
5. Wearing deodorant is recommended.
6. No dress policy. I will allow ONE DAY a semester to report to class without your gym clothes. You will
however, have to participate. If it happens again during a semester period further action will take place (i.e.
HONOR LEVEL DISCIPLINE SYSTEM.)
Excuses
1. If a student sits out for one or two days in a row a note signed by a parent or guardian must be presented
before class.
a. The student will not participate in class, but must sit and watch what goes on. You must stay with the
group.
b. The student is responsible for anything taught that day.
c. The student may make up any missed work by making arrangements with the teacher.
d. If a student fails to bring a doctors note, or a note from home, the student will dress for class and
participate as best as he/she can.
2. Medical Excuses:
a. A doctor’s note is needed if the student is to be out of class for more than two days.
b. The student's grade will be determined by his/her written work ie., worksheets and tests.
Make up work:
1. All students are responsible for making up any missed work.
2. Any student missing work while out on a doctor's excuse need not make up missed work, ie., running, skills,
and skill tests.
3. It will be the student's responsibility to contact his/her teacher and make arrangements for making up missing
assignments.
Miscellaneous rules:
1. Do not wear jewelry during class. It could cause bodily harm or get broken. You will be deducted points if you
have it on in class. Teachers can keep all valuables locked in their office if you wish.
2. No gum chewing.
3. When dressed for class; go into the gym and sit in designated area for roll call.
4. When in the gym, do not go on any equipment until instructed to do so by the teacher.
5. When dressed to leave class, you may wait outside the locker room. Please stay inside the gym or sit at the
cafeteria tables.
Injuries:
1. Report all injuries to the teacher no matter how minor they may seem to you. It may be necessary for the
teacher to fill out an accident form.
