Classroom Management Plan

If students do not follow the classroom rules they will receive strikes.  Strikes are printed on small chips and kept at students' seats throughout the day.  At the end of the day students turn in their chips.  Students start each day "fresh" with 0 strikes.

STRIKE 1 - Caution! - Student has received a warning.

STRIKE 2 - Stop! - Student misses 2nd recess and has a note sent home in the assignment notebook.

STRIKE 3 - Intervention! - Call/note home and a visit with Mrs. Butnik! - Other consequences depending on the severity.

Mystery Motivator

Students are expected to follow classroom and school rules.  When students demonstrate great behavior, effort, and cooperation they will receive mystery motivators.  Mystery motivators can include a small treat, fun activity, extra recess, classroom games, contests, etc.  Mystery motivators are decided and given out at the discretion of Mrs. Berres.  Individual students who do not meet classroom behavior expectations will be dismissed from the activity.

Missing/Late Work

If students have any missing or late work, it is recorded in their assignment notebook and on their weekly newsletters.  This includes their RAH (reading at home) minutes.  They need to stay in for recess until it is completed.  Students can also miss out on fun activities or projects if they have work that hasn't been turned in.  Please look over assignment notebooks.

Assignment Notebooks

Assignment notebooks need to be signed on a daily basis.  Students are responsible for showing their parents/guardians their notebooks and need to check off homework once it is finished.  This notebook serves as a communication tool betweent myself and the parents because I check it on a daily basis as well.
