   If you get stuck on homework:

1.  Reread the problem carefully.    

2.  Have a parent or older sibling read the problem with you.

3.  Call a friend or classmate.    

4.  If you are still stuck, write a question that if answered, would help you get unstuck.

5.  Have a parent write a note telling me that you spent 20 minutes or more working on the problem without success.

Research Facts to Writing
Learning Target:

We will work on taking our facts and turning them into our body paragraphs.  We are going to write a practice paragraph as a class. 


Start Rough Draft
Learning Target:

Students will continue to work on their body paragraphs for their Research Paper.

Learning Target:

After looking over the spelling sheet, we will start to look at the introduction paragraph for our Research Paper.


7th Grade Language Arts 7th Grade English Language Arts DOL/ Spelling Week 17
Learning Target:

After DOL and spelling, student will have a chance to finish up their Outsiders test and get caught up on other work.

Activity/Assignment:

Unit 17 words:

cafeteria, mustang, tornado, fiesta, patio, rodeo, iguana, mosquito, canyon, tortilla, laundry, mischievous, salary, miniature, temperature, environment, equipment, escape, especially, excellent


Compare/Contrast Outsiders
Learning Target:

Students will be comparing and contrasting scenes from The Outsiders movie to the book.

Activity/Assignment:

We will focus on the drive in and the park scene.


Review Outsiders Test
Learning Target:

we will finish up any discussion from the previous day and review test results.


Literature Circle Book Vote
Learning Target:

I will be introducing a group of literature circle books.   The students will be voting on which book (top three) they would like to read.  We will also be reviewing literature role sheet from the Outsiders.


Week 17 DOL/ Spelling
Learning Target:

After spelling and DOL, we will be wrapping up anything from the Outsiders and setting up Moodle.
