Description:
English 11 explores the concepts of realism, naturalism, the Moderns/Jazz age, and the Harlem Renaissance. Writings will consist of a descriptive essay, an explorative essay, a persuasive essay, and contemporary and descriptive poetry. Students will also use Moodle to communicate about daily readings. The idea of what it takes to be an American and "The American Dream" will also be explored. Students will work collaboratively to learn compromise and to show their knowledge and creativity in a group.
Methodology: Presentations, demonstrations, modeling, constructing/creating, small group work, discussion, and hands-on experiences.
