Kindergarten/1st grade Wellness

9-4 to 9-14 Procedures/Playground
  • Understand rules and procedures in gym
  • Understand Playground saftey
  • Participate in playground games

Please remember to bring proper shoes for Phy. Ed.  Proper shoes are shoes that are able to tie and have rubber non-marking soles.

9-17 to    10-5

Kicking unit
  • Student kicks ball with top of foot
  • Student is able to trap the ball with either foot.
  • Student is introduced to punting a ball and contacts ball before it touches the ground
  • FES mini KEYS on october 12 at 3:00-3:40 at FES. Parents invited to cheer on the students!
  • Kewaskum KEYS RUN/WALK on October 14.
10-8 to 10-12 Fitness/Wellness day
  • Students will take part in a fitness activity
  • Components of fitness
  • FES mini KEYS run/walk at 3:00.  Parents are invited to cheer on the students!
10-15 to 11-3 Fitness testing
  • Students will be learning how to do each fitness test.
  • Students will work on improving their fitness.
  • Fuel up to play 60 team will be setting up an opportunity for students to run/walk 20 minutes prior to school starting 1 time per week.  AND a food tasting one time per week in the cafeteria where students will have the opportunity to try a new healthy food!
11-5 to 11-30 Throwing Unit
  • Students will be learning how to overhand and underhand throw with correct form.
  • We will be participating in our healthy oatmeal breakfast challenge on November 20th at WES and November 21st at FES
12-3 to 12-21 Gamedays and Wellness Days
  • Students can cooperatively particpate in activities to improve fitness.
  • Students can show sportmanship
Just a reminder that we currently have a reading log that was sent home to earn a free Sunburst Tubbing ticket.  Elementary students must read 500 minutes to earn the ticket.
1-2 to 1-25 Tumbling Unit
  • Students can safely partiipate in tumbling activities.
  • Students can perform tumbling activities to improve fitness.
  • Students can accept the challenges of different tumbling exercises.
Students will get the opportunity to taste test Beets, aspargus, starfruit, rasberries, and cottage cheese toped with a strawberry during this months taste test a rainbow.
1-28 to 2-15 Serving Unit
  • Students will continue to work on building cardiovascular endurance
  • Students will be learning how to serve volleyball with correct form
  • Students will also be given opportunity to serve with a racket and scoops.

Last day to turn in reading log for Sunburst tubing ticket is January 31st. 

 

2-19 to    3-1 Health day and gamedays
  • Students will participate in activities to increase heart rate
  • Students will be introduced to different healthy food options.
 

3-4 to 3-22

Basketball Unit
  • Students will be able to dribble with correct form.
  • Students will participate in dribbling  games.
  • Jump Rope for heart will be taking place April 24-26.  We will kick off the fundraising on March 25-27.
4-3 to 4-26 Jump Rope unit/ jump and hoops for heart
  • students can perform different jump patterns
  • Students can twirl and long rope
  • Students can jump inside a long rope.
  • Jump Rope for heart and Hoops for heart will be taking place April 24-26.  Deadline to hand in donations is April 26th.
4-29 to 6-7 Fitness testing + Striking unit
  • Students will continue to learn how to do fitness tests
  • Students will be able to hit a ball off a tee with correct form.
EXCELLENT JOB RAISING MONEY FOR JUMP ROPE AND HOOPS FOR HEART!  FES RAISED $4,066.25 and WES RAISED JUST OVER &1,800.00.  EXCELLENT JOB!!
