Hands on Learning at KHS
Three tractors were restored this year to various degrees by high school Ag Mechanics and Tech Ed students. Cody Peters restored a McCormick Super W6 including new tires, new paint, fabrication of new battery box mount and operator foot panels, and more. Richie Thiemer restored a 1939 Farmall H including new tires, new paint, new wiring, re-sealing the engine, and much more. The tractor has been in Richie's family since it was new! Austin Ksioszk, Steve Canales, Jordan Russell, and Adam Waala led a team of students who helped restore a 1943 9N Ford including new tires, new paint, total engine rebuild, dismantled the entire tractor and re-sealed everything, new wiring, and the list goes on and on. ALL tractors received FREE tires from Titan Tire, which donates tires to kids who are in FFA or 4H and are restoring a tractor. This donation averages to around $750-1000 per tractor.
