Who should participate in the PLAN and the PSAT tests?
Participating in the PLAN and PSAT tests can provide valuable information and testing experience: College-bound students are especially encouraged to participate. If you have not yet registered for testing, and wish to do so, please contact the School Counseling Office. Be sure to discuss the results of your test with your school counselor.

PLAN Test
The PLAN testing program will be available to all interested sophomores on:
DATE: MONDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2011
TIME: 7:40 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.
The PLAN test is recommended for sophomores to help them discover where their individual strengths lie and how to make use of these strengths in future career choices.
The PLAN test measures academic skills in English, Math, Reading and Science Reasoning. The PLAN assessment is a practice test for the ACT, which is a college admission test required by the University of Wisconsin admission. (The actual ACT test should be taken in the spring of your junior year).
The PLAN also assesses your study skills. You will also complete an interest inventory/career module that will give you some indication of the kind of occupations or jobs you might like.
You will receive your PLAN results in a personalized report that will explain how to use this information to predict your ACT scores and help you plan your future.

PSAT Test
The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will be administered to all interested Juniors on:
DATE: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2011 TIME: 7:40 A.M. in the KHS cafeteria
This test is optional and recommended only for the four-year college bound student. This test can be overwhelming to a student who struggles in high school.
The purpose of the PSAT/NMSQT (preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test) is to:
• Practice for the SAT college admission test
• Enter the National Merit Scholarship competition
• Give colleges and opportunity to send you information
• Find our your reading and math skill levels
