Requirements:

There will be 7 winners of $1,000 scholarships across Wisconsin.  Winners will be determined by independent judging of an essay contest.  The essay should address the topic:  "What is the appropriate role of recall elections in Wisconsin at the state and local levels?"

The typed essay should be between 500 and 1,000 words and double spaced.

The completed essay should be postmarked no later than May 30, 2012 and mailed to Wisconsin Towns Association, @7686 County Road MMM, Shawano, WI 54166-6086

Essays must include a bibliographic listing of sources used.

UW-Stout offers several different scholarships.  All incoming freshmen are considered for the AMCS Outstanding Freshman Scholarship without having to fill out a separate application.

Please go to https://www4.uwstout.edu/foundation/Scholarships/ for instructions on applying for the Stout University Foundation scholarships.  Note:  Evry student that applies for a scholarship through the Foundation is considered for any of the available scholarships that he or she qualifies for, including scholarships not specifically for Applied Mathematics and Computer Science majors.  Students do not have to indicate which scholarship they are applying for.
