The No Child Left Behind Act passed in 2002 by the Bush administration mandates high stakes testing in grades 3-8th & 10th starting in October of 2005. We need to be sure that our students have updated textbooks and instructional materials that will prepare them to succeed on all assessments. In addition, our textbooks need to be aligned with our state standards.
The budget for textbooks and supplemental instructional materials will be increased by $168,000 per year for five years, thanks to our additional referendum funds. The funds will be used for:
* One core subject area adoption per year
* Textbook adoptions for other subject areas
* Workbooks and other supporting instructional materials
* Supplementary software of support the textbook adoptions
Textbook Cycle
This is our current 5 year Textbook Cycle which is a result of funding provided by our April 2005 referendum
