During School Hour OPPORTUNITIES

Classroom Assistant
Whether you like working alongside the staff with classroom projects, assisting students with daily activities, reading, math, enrichment activities, or typing up projects, volunteering in the classroom is a wonderful way to make a difference.  Volunteer applicants can work with individual students, helping to complete their tasks in a timely manner.

Tutor
Would you be willing to challenge a child's mind and work with them to fulfill their class academics?  From kindergarten to twelfth grade, individual tutoring can make all the difference to a child who is struggling.  Volunteers can help with reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies.

Library Assistant
Do you ENJOY books?  Do you love to see students learn to read?  Do you love to check out all the latest and greatest books?  Do you like to file?  Do you like to shelve books?  Do you like to repair a book so it can be read and read again?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then volunteering in the library is for you.  Library hours will be during school hours and will vary per building.  After application is accepted, hours will be determined.

Junior Achievement (JA)
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to empower a student's mind with the knowledge about business and economics?  Could you see yourself teaching inquisitive minds?  Then JA is for you.  Once a week, for six weeks, you will have the opportunity to come into a classroom K-12 grade and teach a lesson.  The lesson and materials are provided to you.  With your knowledge and JA materials, you can watch a child's mind grow.  Days and times can be set up on an individual basis.

Playground Duties
volunteers who choose to help with playground duties enjoy the outdoors; enjoy engaging in football, basketball, kickball, and teaching students new games.  If you have a flare for creativity for safe outdoor activities, this is the place for you to volunteer.

Lunchroom Duties
Volunteers who choose to help in the lunchroom get to help set up the cafeteria, prep food, serve food, clean tables, and enjoy all the smiling faces as they come to receive their lunch.  Great opportunity for community members, students, and retirees!

Special Events
Only have time to help once in awhile?  Then this one's for you.  Class parties, bake sales, holiday projects, fundraisers, school wide testing, data entry, and child care are just a few ways we could use your help.

Sewing
If you can help with an occasional sewing project, we would like to hear from you.  We need assistance with classroom craft projects, sewing costumes for a production, or repairing items in a classroom.
